The transmission has a couple electronic plugs on the case. The throwout has two lines connecting to it, how does the plumbing need to be routed? From my understanding, the hydraulic throwout takes the place of the slave cylinder and clutch fork correct?Ĥ. It was installed in GM trucks and eventually re-designated as the 5LM60. If I need to get new parts i.e clutch, pressure plate, flywheel.what model do I order these for? My buddy thinks the transmission came out of a 98 1500 silverado, but wasnt positive.ģ. The NV3500 transmission was first manufactured in 1988 and was known as an HM290. So I believe I have all the parts Ill need?Ģ. What are some things I need to know before hooking this up? It came with a clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, spicer trans yoke and hydraulic throwout. The Dana 300 transfer case is well matched to the NV3500. IH versions of these transfer cases are not compatible. All Jeep models of the Dana 300 transfer cases are compatible with this adapter assembly. So if somebody could give me a little insight itd be appreciated!ġ. Transmissions This adapter fits GM NV3500 transmissions with the larger 5 bolt GM pattern usually from GM S/T trucks. My questions are about the NV3500, Ive never messed the swapping over to a 5 speed, anytime Ive messed with them it was factory and everything was hooked up. My powerplant will not be a speed/torque demon so Im not worried about it not being able to handle the power. Plus, Ive read some good things about the NV3500 tansmissions and using them in hot rods. So ive decided to run with this setup instead of going the crate motor route to save time and money and move my project forward. Even though this is a stick-shift gearbox, it still has one overdrive gear. It was outsourced to the New Venture Gear company. It was for sale between 19 in the United States. NV3500 TRANSMISSION MANUALI ended up getting a really good deal on a freshly rebuilt 305 and an NV3500 5 speed from a buddy of mine. The NV3500 is a manual transmission used in Dodge vehicles. ![]()
